In Chapter 524, Blackbeard is shown to be seated with other members of the Shichibukai at Mariejois -- specifically Dracule Mihawk, Bartholomew Kuma, Gecko Moriah and Donquixote Doflamingo.
It can be taken that due to his surrendering of Ace to the World Government, he was awarded with the position of being a Shichibukai.
